At the end of 2021, Pan African Resources announced the conditional acquisition of the Blyvoor Gold Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) – one of the last remaining large-scale gold tailings resources in South Africa.
Since then, independent consultants have conducted a fatal flaw assessment and gap analysis as part of the initial due diligence. These were completed in April 2022. The Definite Feasibility Study is expected to be finalised in December 2022.
This acquisition has the potential of further building on the Group’s track record of successfully bringing tailings retreatment operations to fruition.
