Summary of current work being conducted by ExplorMine Consultants at Barberton Mines Limited (17 March 2008) ExplorMine Consultants was commissioned by Pan African Resources PLC to complete a collation, compilation and interpretation of the historic exploration data and borehole data for Barberton Mines Limited, Mpumalanga Province South Africa. The interpretation of the exploration data is based on historic geological, geochemical, geophysical and borehole data. This data was collected over an extended period of time from the early 1980’s through to present. A Technical Report has been prepared based on a technical review by ExplorMine Consultants over a five month period from January 2008 to May 2008. The work involved an assessment of the following aspects:
The Barberton Mines Limited historic exploration data is stored at Barberton Mines Limited’s Fairview Mine. All of the historic data related to the scope of work provided by Pan African Resources PLC is currently being electronically captured on site in consultation with site personnel at Fairview Mine. On completion of the electronic data capture phase, each data set will be collated within a relational database. This database will aid effective data management and interrogation. The final phase of the work will involve the use of a Geographical Information System (GIS) to overlay various sets of data in order to highlight and select potential exploration localities. |
